3 Quick Deer Hunting Tips
Sep 02 2008One of the best tips for hunting deer is to get an early start. Of course, you should never fire a shot either before sun up or after dusk so that you can be 100% certain of what you are aiming at but arriving before dawn and getting settled in your hunting blind or deer stand will give you a better than average chance of a shot come sun rise.
As well as arriving early you should also try to stay until after sun set. As with dawn, the deer’s eye’s are not as sharp during this period of light change but they also prefer this time of day for grazing and drinking so as well as having less chance of seeing you, they are also out and about in greater numbers.
Never wear aftershave’s, deodorants etc. when going out on a hunt. Shower without any perfumed soaps before you go and make sure your hunting kit has been well aired. Deer hate the smell of humans and that includes washing powders.
